ABOUT ME

Hela SAIDANI defended her doctoral thesis in Linguistics, The Vocabulary of Tunisians on Facebook: A Study of Reactions to Terrorist Attacks in Tunisia and Belgium (March 2016), jointly undertaken at the University of Cadiz (Spain) and the University of Carthage (Tunisia), under the supervision of Professors Juan Manuel LÓPEZ MUÑOZ (University of Cadiz) and Mohamed BOUATTOUR (University of Sfax).

In February 2022, she was awarded her doctorate with the highest honours and congratulations from the examination committee (Dr Amanda SCHERER, Chair; Dr Martine RENOUPREZ and Dr Houda BEN HAMADI, examiners), specialising in digital discourse analysis, communication, and natural language processing (NLP).

Following her doctorate, she broadened her academic horizons by pursuing a degree in International Business at Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain). In July 2023, she earned an Expert Diploma in International Business, gaining expertise in international relations, global trade, project investment, and artificial intelligence (AI).

With a background in digital marketing, she combines her passion for languages with digital technologies to design innovative solutions in online marketing.

Since 2018, she's a member of the Association des Francisants de l'Université Espagnole (AFUE) and of the research laboratory Bernardo de Aldrete: Lenguas en Movimiento at the University of Cadiz, contributing to research in digital discourse analysis and communication.

Her academic and professional career reflects extensive experience in higher education in Tunisia and Spain (University of Cadiz, University of Carthage, University of Kairouan, Virtual University of Tunis, University of Tunis El-Manar). She also serves as a certified DELF/DALF examiner accredited by France Éducation International (FEI).

In 2023–2024, she was General Manager of the Alliance Française de Tunis (Fondation des Alliances Françaises), and since 2024 she works as a consultant for the Representation of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) for North Africa (REPAN).

Actively engaged in research, she publishes regularly and participates in international conferences, lectures and seminars on Digital Discourse, Applied Linguistics, and online social interaction.

Since 2016, she has been a member of DELF/DALF examination boards, and she recently served on the jury of the Carthage Innov'Startup 4.0 competition (semi-final) organised by the Student Entrepreneur Centre of the University of Carthage (PEEC).

Dedicated to teaching, research and digital innovation, Hela SAIDANI advocates for the integration of new technologies into language learning and intercultural communication. Multilingual and passionate about international relations, she collaborates with several international organisations, including the Cervantes Institute of Tunis.
